Frequently Asked Questions

The cost of a stairlift depends on the stairway to which it is being fitted – we recommend a free, no obligation survey for a proper quote (not an estimate) for the price of the most suitable stairlift for your home. We provide a written quote and leave you to contact us if you’d like to place an order – there’s no hard sell or follow-up phone calls from us.
As a guideline though, our prices start from around £1,650 (excl VAT) for a straight stairlift. For a custom made curved rail, together with the seat & carriage, our prices start from around £3,000. The total price includes the supply and fitting – and we usually ask for a small deposit and the remainder after completion.
We also have a stock of reconditioned stairlifts, and these start from £1,200. We also offer the option to rent a stairlift – see the question below for more details.

We can install your straight stair lift within 7 working days (subject to a free, no obligation survey) and we can install a curved stair lift in 3 to 4 weeks. Our curved stairlift rails are specifically designed to fit your stairs, giving the smoothest travel possible. Some of our competitors simply use smaller rail parts fitted together – and as these are readily available, they can sometimes offer a shorter delivery time. We feel that having a better quality product with specifically made rails is more important than a quicker delivery time.

Yes. At Dolphin Devon Stairlifts we offer a rental option for a stairlift, where you pay an upfront cost to cover the installation and removal fee – together with the first months’ rental. Prices per month start at £40 and include the cost of any call-outs or maintenance. There is no minimum term and you can have the stairlift removed at any time.

Yes. Dolphin Devon work closely with organisations and local authorities to install the latest generation of lifts that meet accessibility and disability guidelines and statutory requirements.

Modern stairlifts can be installed very quickly and efficiently with minimal disruption. They are usually attached to the stair case rather than walls which allows them to be removed without leaving a nasty mess.
